Consider the effects of subversive media on women

http://www.reddit.com/r/reddit.com/comments/bmhfc/you_think_porn_destroys_marriages_through/

Cosmopolitan and their relentless battery of "Is Your Relationship Healthy?" quizzes are as bad or worse.

Why?I agree but why? Does this encourage taking reasonable questioning of a relationship and replace it with constant fear that a relationship is about to fall apart? Does it encourage the analysis of a relationship through meaningless metrics and box ticking as opposed to assessing a relationship in a more holistic manner? Sowing baseless fears? Does it indulge the logic of something that is not going right continuing to go wrong? Epxerience and motivation of the authors? NB Vicki didn't indulge in these mags but part of the same fretful narrative? Does it impose unrealistic understandings of how things should be? Or simplistic understandings of a persons beliefs/love based on simplistic, reductive analysis of their acts? That if a person does not behave in a certain way, that they do not love or value you? Do they encourage analysis of a relationation based on whether you go out to fancy places or restaurants as opposed to your shared experiences? (to support advertisers life style aspirations or just the skewed world view of some lack writer?)

Do relationship magazines encourage an obsession on looks as a way of obtaining validity?

Womens issues are less about what men think of them and more about what other women think of them.

On the disney thing, women tend towards the submissive, waiting for their knights in shining armour to come and save them as opposed to solving their problems. There is a tendancy to tantrum when people don't behave how they would like as opposed to engaging with people.

I should wrote an article

attacking gym culture (diriving to the gym to run on a treadmill, so she can look at the wall and run away rather than engaging with the world, living life or putting effort in)

Taking of certain couples/Tory types....talk of a couple as if they're their own party (possibly pointing out futility of them always towing the party line)....or attack general Tory tendancy to talk about their ignorance yet at the same time certainty of what it is to be a worker ("would i have spent 10 years reading up on neo-liberal economics only to be wrong? surely not...must be right then" (lame?)

"Generic girl finally overcomes downtrodden unhappy adolescence by realising how fun it is to stamp on people/look down on people when you have money...thus attempting

How about "Once again, Tories manage to justify to/convince themselves that what they want to be the best economic plan . Tories succeed in creating/imagining/discovering from Thatcher's satanic bible/bodging economic theory/ new ways to hang onto their wealth. In other news, one of their think tanks is in the midst of creating new theories to justify why sending children to boarding schools, extra-marrital affairs and asphyxy wanks are all at the core of family values (think up actual theory).

Inheritance tax....up to 1,000,000...Tories are adamant that economic theory shows that the country will definitely, most certainly be better if they are able to hold onto their massive pots of gold. "Well the stupid paupers will just give it away! spend it in shops (on potatoes and other such triffle/books on Marx/ and stuff if we lowered bottom rate income tax, not do sensible things like invest the money to garner even greater control and money". Chris Whittaker, a steel worker from Sheffield says "Well, the Tories have convinced me...we're all middle class now! Why are we trying to tax the estates of the rotting corpses who have profited from the weat of others brow all their lives. I'm sure one day I'll benefit from a higher tax threshold. Well at least that's what they tell me. It's the people who work and can feel the pain of being taxed. Not the dead.

a Tory MP said "In this country we have developed as a nation to have respect and sympathy for the elderly and giving them state benefits and a lower rate of tax. Refusing to raise the IHT threshold would be a slap in the face pensionsers (who are the most vulnerable to tax increases) as surely the deceased are the most vulnerable of all the elderly. Anyways, why not let the poor take the tax burden, they used to it after all.

(or put it across as wanting to keep a grip on the poor even after death. "I fear for the country, the youngsters of today won't have the backbone to keep them in line. I need a legacy to keep a grip on proles, make them sure they don't get above their station)

Cameron says "well we've seen how well the trickle down theory in the States, eventually after the money has been invested, gorwn several fold, placed in a trust fund to reach maturity, it will go to my children, who after snorting a small mountain of coke and the ashes of....will buy a ___ (some object only the rich have control of to sell) and thus the money is returned to a working man)

We're all middle class now and there's no such thing as society. Therefore we can fuck the poor.

In other news, government

"Massive Surprise: Women who watch soaps have fuck all/deeply flawed understanding of relationships, a greater tendancy to interfere and tend to favour dramatic self-immolating ends to relationships rather than careful understanding whilst sincerely believing they have a deep understanding of human nature. Scientists(or Gertrude?) believe this is something/nothing to do with them creating a narrative with which to tell themselves they have some purpose on the world. "Well what is a girl to do? Now MMR has been disproved as causing autism we need to have something to make ourselves feel good. Otherwise people with degrees who have wasted away their time socialising with people might misguidedly think their vapid, self-jusitificatory lives had more value than the 40 years life experience I have of residing in a kitchen thinking about soaps/ Deidre off Corrie/life endowing me with a unique objective perspective, entirely differing from the other 20 million dears wittering away....

After spending a few adolescent years getting the odd dick to show me I really was pretty and a few fumbles at Uni before snatching up my hubbie we now live in Christian harmony and this allows me to talk in absolute terms about relationships

praody the digg stfu from reddit of digg about the woman in the mail who was locked out with no credit cards. at tehnd "oh my, can you hear me? Now you can see how easy it is to mental illness....I convinced myself for a moment that these silly homeless people arent there because they want to be...right, off to a spa to get all that nonsense out of my head. Next thing you know I'll (mild liberal policy). NB must describe something as frightful.

where sis the new thatcher to save us lol http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1239321/DAILY-MAIL-COMMENT-Where-new-Margaret-Thatcher-rescue-us.html this is a goldmine

Cameron hits out against crude remarks of class. Just because he is readying himself to pillage the country for the rich/public school buddies does not mean he is some old Etonian. He smiles and rides a bike, in the wake of which any tactless remarks complaining of this pillaging should fall to the side.

Mary-Anne says "I clearly have a valid viewpoint the world needs to hear. I have a higher education degree in Physiotherapy and have bagged myself a Conservative who owns a business. On these facts alone we are clearly the moral foundations the country is built on. Through boring dinner parties (and coaxing my husband with Conservative small talk to keep him away from sex) my half-baked and self-justificatory ideas have formed and now I feel compelled to talk about Keynesian economics and the how the Unions are a scourge. I can see workmen out of my 10th story office floor, of course I know what it is to be a worker!"

To anyone reading this, I do actually like the people this is aimed at...

After foolishly falling into this boring Christian moralist trap myself, I feel compelled to sell my daughters into the same patriarchal monotony. A bit like female genital mutilation.

Work ex last year?

An eventful, interest couple of weeks...what did I learn?

The level members of the public feel helpless when they wander into a sols and the value of a sol who can advise and explain concisely and considerately.

Do not get over emotionally involved. You can't help from this position as well and won't function as affectively as a sol. Be professional.

Do not underestimate the value of pre settlement negotiations and getting and understanding of the person on the other side, their very nature. Do not assume the other side will be rational or well represented/advised. People are naturally risk averse and when a scorned woman is forcing someone to choose between no house for 6 years or a small portion of something immediately, even if it's not fair....the C is likely to go for the immediate option. Not having any house is a serious matter for a person.

Part of the job can be framing things in such a way that the client does the "right" thing eg the woman with alcoholic tendancies who had recovered but whose ex was still causing trouble. She takes a judgment against her/for deferred reason as deciding she is unfit when you need to explain it in terms of the judge wanting to make doubly sure and that the client has to play the game. This also puts the C in a position of power as "playing" the judge means they are in a position of power and as such less vulnerable and have some control in what happens.

Well I don't feel better
When I'm fucking around
And I don't write better
When I'm stuck in the ground
So don't teach me a lesson
Cause I've already learned

I wanna be forgotten
And I don't wanna be reminded
He said, "please don't make this harder"
No, I won't yet
I wanna be beside her
She wanna be admired
He said, "please don't make this harder"
No, I won't yet

I don't want to change your mind,

I don't want to change the world.

I just want to watch it go by.

I just want to watch you go by.

We were yound, darling

We don't have no control

We're out of control
